What's New in Olive Tree Lab Suite Version 4.4
Faster and more accurate Indicative Room Acoustics Calculation Tool.A new Indicative Room Acoustics Method has been included capable of calculating room acoustical parameters directly from paths found using the Image Source Method. Calculation times have been greatly improved as the new method does not rely on any Ray Tracing algorithms. Since it is based on the Image Source Method this also gives a more accurate representation of the early part of sound decay.

New function to export RT curves in high refquency resolution.
Now Room Acoustical parameters may be calculated and exported in any frequency step set by the user, beyond the standard 1/3rd octave analysis displayed in the output window.

New in the Multi-layered Structure Builder: Thick plate model replaces thin plate model.A more accurate plate impedance model, by Ljunggren1, is applied in calculating SRI, capable of modelling a wider range of plates, from thin to thick. This model can also account for shear wave sound transmission beyond bending waves transmission (thin plate theory) which becomes dominant at plate thicknesses comparable to wavelengths and prevents SRI values reaching unrealistic high values, typical of thin plate theory.
|
New Finite Size correction feature in the Multi Layered Structue Builder.
A new option is available in the Multi-Layered Structure Builder, which implements a method by Rhazi and Atalla2 to account for the finite sizes of structures. Such effects are important for most typical building elements such as doors, windows or drywalls.
|
Expanded Database - Sources, Material Properties, Material Absorption Coefficients, Layered Structures and Noise Criteria.
The new database includes various new materials including Woods, Plastics, Perforated Panels and Masonry materials for the Material Properties database while the Material Absorption Coefficients database has also been greatly expanded. RC, NC and NRC curves are also now available in the Criteria database while many representative Background Noise Levels have been included for various environments. Representative wall, window and noise barrier structures have also been added in the Layered Structures database, while additional speech sources have been included in the Source database based on ANSI/ASA S3.5.
|
New option to speed up atmospheric refraction calculations.
When a receiver is in the shadow zone of a source, no paths are found using standard calculation methods. Nevertheless, there is still a small sound field present from that source which OTL-Suite can calculate. However, calculating the shadow zone effect is more computationally expensive, and sometimes unnecessary especially in cases where sound contribution from the illuminated zone is much higher. Now the user has the option to disable this calculation.
